• TWO INTERNATIONAL DRUG TRAFFICKERS INDULGED IN SUPPLYING CONTRABAND DRUGS NABBED BY THE TEAM OF AATS NORTH DISTRICT. THE ACCUSED PERSONS USED TO BRING THE STOCK OF CONTRABAND DRUGS FROM NIGERIA AND DIFFERENT STATES OF INDIA I.E. MADHYA PRADESH, HIMACHAL PRADESH AND PUNJAB, FURTHER THEY USED TO SUPPLY IN SAME IN LOCAL AREAS OF DELHI., • TOTAL 552 GRAMS OF FINE QUALITY HEROIN/SMACK RECOVERED FROM THEIR POSSESSION.• ONE SCOOTY USED IN COMMISSION OF OFFENCE (WHICH IS BEING VERIFIED) ALSO RECOVERED FROM THEIR POSSESSION.

The team of AATS North District has been directed to work on the wanted criminals especially Robbers, Snatchers, Burglars, Auto-lifters, Drug traffickers and criminals involved in street crime. Consequently, the team of AATS North District has been working relentlessly and developing information about the criminal active in the area and they also used to patrol randomly in the area during odd hours to keep a check on their illegal activities.
On 25.02.2023, secret information was received to HC Praveen Saini of AATS/North District, through a special informer that two African Nationals are involved in supply of Narcotic contrabands in the area of Harit Vihar, Burari, Delhi. If raid is conducted well in time, they might be apprehended with huge quantity of contraband drugs. The secret information was passed to the senior officers.
Immediately, a dedicated police team of AATS/North District, led by ASI Dinesh Kumar, HC Praveen Saini, HC Bal Krishan, HC Ravinder Dhaka, HC Rakesh Singh, Ct Vicky, Ct Ashish & W/Ct Sainki was formed to conduct raid and to nab the culprits, under the close supervision of Inspr. Surender Singh, (In-charge AATS/North District and guidance of Shri Dharmender Kumar, ACP/Operations North District, Delhi.
As per the directions of senior officers and working on the secret information, the team of AATS/North District without wasting time, rushed to the place of information and laid a strategic trap at the place of secret information. Consequently, the dedicated efforts of the team bore fruits, when at about 02:20 PM, they noticed two African nationals riding on a blue coloured Scooty coming inside Gali No. 04, Harit Vihar, Burari, Delhi and leading towards Pump House Road. The team instantly swung into action and they succeeded in intercepting the Scooty and overpowered the suspected persons after a short scuffle at D-Block, Gali No. 04, Harit Vihar, Burari, Delhi.(SUBHEAD)
Initially, the apprehended both African Nationals tried to dodge and mislead the police team. But after following all legal parameters as per the provisions contained in NDPS Act, their search was conducted, under the close supervision of Shri Vijay Rastogi, ACP/Sub-Division, Sadar Bazar. Consequently, one white coloured polythene bag containing total 552 grams Heroin/Smack recovered from their possession, which was found kept inside the Dickey of Scooty being used by them.
Both the African Nationals were identified as Sery r/o Permanent address Abujan, Ivoirienne Republique De Cote D’IVOIRE & Present address Block-D, Harit Vihar, Delhi, age 31 years and Ugochukwu Paschal R/o Permanent address Owerri, Nigeria & Present address Block-D, Harit Vihar, Delhi, age 30 years. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 223/23 dated 25.02.2023 u/s 21/25/29 NDPS Act was registered at PS Burari, Delhi and investigation was taken up.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, North Distt, said, during interrogation, the accused persons only disclosed that they used to bring the stock of contraband drugs from their native country Nigeria as well as from different states of India such as Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab and they further used to supply the contraband drugs in local areas of Delhi to earn easy money. Due to language problem, much enquiry could not be conducted from the accused persons, however, the investigation is in progress to ascertain the main source of contraband drugs and to find out the role of other associates in this racket.
