MEGA EX-SERVICEMEN RALLY HELD AT YOL

A Mega Ex-Serviceman Rally was organised by Rising Star Corps at Yol, Himachal Pradesh to interact with and address requirements and grievances of more than 1000 Veterans and 55 Veer Naris from Kangra District. Lt Gen Nav K Khanduri, AVSM, VSM, GOC-in-C Western Command was the Chief Guest for the grand event.

The General Officer felicitated the Awardees and Veer Naris during the event. Speaking on the occasion, the Army Commander reiterated that the achievements of our esteemed Veterans and the brave Veer Naris remain at the core of our ethos in the Indian Army. While recognising their sacrifice, the Army Commander expressed his deep gratitude towards them.

He also felicitated the brave awardees. The ESM and the Veer Naris were also informed about the recent initiatives by the Government of India and Indian Army towards their welfare. Several aspects of women empowerment including commissioning were shared with the ESM and Veer Naris.

Apart from the redressal of grievances, a medical camp and welfare related facilities were also organised at the venue where easy access to the ESM was ensured. Information on key Govt schemes was provided to the esteemed Veterans and Veer Naris by concerned appointments of Directorate of Indian Army Veterans, Army Welfare Placement Organisation and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme. The event culminated with a vibrant cultural programme including Ghatka, Kalaripayattu and a scintillating performance by the combined pipe band of Rising Star Corps. The performance by the talented soldiers of the Rising Star Corps left the audience awestruck in the picturesque background of Dhauladhar ranges.

The event is part of intensive efforts by the Western Command to strengthen our bond with the veterans fraternity and maintain a close connect.
