THE RECOVERED CONSIGNMENT COSTS AROUND 7.65 CRORES IN INTERNATIONAL GREY MARKET CONSIGNMENT OF CANNABIS/GANJA WAS BROUGHT FROM NORTHEAST STATE OF INDIA

The team of Special Staff, South District has done commendable work by arresting two interstate “Cannabis (Ganja)”suppliers namely Rahul and Dipak Das in case FIR No.440/2022, Dt. 05.12.2022, u/s 20/25 NDPS Act PS Saket. Upon their instance, total 102.988 Kgs Cannabis (Gaanja) and 01 Scooty used in commission of crime were recovered. Rs. 90 thousands also recovered from the accused persons.
The team of Special Staff, South District was specifically tasked to curb the supply of contraband substance in the area and take action against the person involved in such activities. Accordingly, the staff initiated sincere efforts by sensitizing local informers and collecting human intelligence. Consequently, the patrolling was intensified/mounted at the vulnerable areas for prevention and detection in the area.
On 04.12.2022, ASI Naresh Kumar from Special Staff/South District received a credible piece of information that a Scooty carrying a huge consignment of cannabis would be coming through Lado Sarai, M.B. Road area of PS Saket, Delhi to deliver some person which would be supplied to Badarpur area in Delhi.(SUBHEAD)
Immediately, a team comprising of SI Dayanand, SI Jay Kishan, SI Yogesh Kumar, ASI Naresh Kumar, ASI Ashok Kumar, ASI Jogender, HC Rakesh Kumar, HC Pankaj, Ct. Lakhmi led by Inspr. Atul Tyagi, I/c Special Staff under overall supervision of Sh. Rajesh Kumar, ACP/Operations/SD under overall supervision of Sh. Anand Dhabi, Addl. DCP-II/South District, was formed to nab the drug suppliers.
The information was further developed and the team laid a trap Near Dhaulapeer Masjid, Lado Sarai, Mehrauli-Badarpur road, Delhi. After sometime two persons were spotted coming on a scooty in suspicious condition. On pointing out of informer, the vigilant staff signaled him to stop but sensing police presence they accelerated and tried to flee from the spot by taking u turn. However, the alert staff successfully intercepted the scooty and overpowered both of them. Later on, they were identified as Rahul & Dipak Das. On checking of scooty, 56.500 kgs gaanja in 22 packets were recovered from their possession. Further at the instance of accused Dipak, 46.488 kgs gaanja was also recovered. In this regard, a case vide FIR No.440/2022, U/S 20/25 NDPS Act, was registered at PS Saket and further investigation is taken up.
Mr. Chandan Chowdhary, IPIS, DCP, said, during interrogation, it was revealed that the said consignment was procured from Tripura, North East. Accused Dipak used to procure consignment from Tripura at a cost of Rs. 5000-6000/per Kg and supplied it at a cost of Rs. 10000-12000/- per Kg. in Delhi/NCR.
KNOW THE ACCUSED: Rahul S/o Labh Singh R/o Vishnu Garden, Tilak Nagar, Delhi. Age 22 years. He has studied upto 12th standard and involved in this criminal activity for the last 2-3 years.
Dipak Das S/o Balahari Das R/o Navrang Apartment, Mahipalpur, Delhi. Age 30 years & Permanent address Village & Post Nalchar Killamura, District Sepahijala, West Tripura. He is an illiterate and involved in this criminal activity for the last 2-3 years.
The staff involved in good work is being suitably rewarded.
