With the arrest of alleged Rohit S/o Late Sh. Suresh r/o Village Raiya, Tehsil & Distt. Jhajjar, Haryana, age 27 years, a team of Special Staff Rohini has done commendable job by arresting a dreaded criminal who was absconding in the case of firing at a Petrol pump and demanding extortion money from the owner of the Petrol pump of Rs. 1 crore. He had allegedly fired at the Petrol pump and fled away. His accomplices including main conspirator had been arrested earlier in the matter but he was absconding since then.
The briefly stated facts of the case are that on 04.11.22 an incident of firing at Indian Oil Petrol pump was reported at Police Station Begumpur by an unknown boy and after firing the alleged boy ran away.
A case vide FIR No. 795/22 u/s 336 IPC and 27 Arms Act dated 04/11/22 was registered at PS Begumpur and an investigation was taken up in the matter. In the meantime, on 05/11/22, the owner of the Petrol Pump Sh. Anil Sharma lodged a complaint for allegedly threatening to him with dire consequences and demanding a ransom of Rs. 1 crore from him.(SUBHEAD)
He had received a recorded voice message from an unknown number for the ransom. After adding appropriate section of law an intensive probe was launched in the matter. Keeping in view the sensitivity of the case, several teams of special staff and Police Station Begumpur were constituted to nab the culprits.
Dr. Guriqbal Singh Sidhu, IPS, DCP,Rohini, said, during course of investigation, earlier four dreaded criminals were arrested including the main conspirator in the said extortion case but the other remaining alleged person Rohit who had allegedly fired at the petrol pump was absconding in the case since the incident.
Raids were continuously being carried out at his possible hideouts. On 30.12.2022, at a secret information, the alleged Rohit who was absconding in the case was arrested from the area of PS Begumpur by a team of Spl. Staff led by Inspr. AATS, Rohini district under supervision of ACP/Ops. Further legal action is being taken into the matter.
