GANG OF CHEATS AND SNATCHERS INCLUDING TWO IRAN NATIONALS ARRESTED

The staff of Police Station Greater Kailash, South District has done commendable work by busting a gang of cheats including 02 Iran Nationals named Mohd.Unus @ Rizwan and Mohd. Gulam Behrami alongwith Farsad Muradi, Madhusudan Saha, Ravi Yadav and Mohd. Kashim in case FIR No.187/22 u/s 356/379/34 IPC Police Station Greater Kailash. Upon their instance, 01 car, 04 fake number plates of car, 1,20,000/ Riyals, 120 Euro, Aadhar making equipment, 01 laptop & 03 mobile phones have been recovered and 05 cases have been worked out. 

A lady complainant R/o Barlin, Germany age 38 years reported in Police Station Greater Kailash that on 12.09.22 she alongwith her husband came in a Hospital at Greater Kailash for medical treatment. At about 6.15 PM, when they were returning from the Hospital, 04 persons came near to them in a car and introduced themselves as police officers and further asked the lady & her husband to show their passport. When the complainant opened her purse to show her passport one of the men took away 3000 Euro from her purse and all of them fled away from the spot in the car. Hence, as per contents of the complaint, a case vide FIR No. 187/22 u/s 356/379/34 IPC was registered at Police Station Greater Kailash and investigation was taken up.

Keeping in view of sensitivity of the case and nature of incident, a team comprising Inspr. Anil Kumar, SI Varun Guliya, ASI Kamlesh, ASI Major Hussain, HC Surender, HC Sandeep, HC Jagdish, HC Satvir, W/Ct.Tinuja, Ct Nikunj led by Inspr Ajit Kumar, SHO/Greater Kailash under overall supervision of Sh Manu Himanshu, ACP C.R. Park was formed to act swiftly.

During the course of investigation, approx. 200 CCTVs footage were collected from the crime spot and surrounding area and the same were thoroughly checked/analyzed. The complainant was questioned thoroughly to get supplementary details of the accused persons and as per disclosure portraits of the suspects were prepared.

Technical surveillance was mounted and details were also obtained and analyzed. Further, during analysis of CCTV footage, it was revealed that there is the involvement of a gang similar to Irani based Gang. Hence, as per clue, information was further developed. Local sources were deployed and human intelligence was collected. Further, the team followed the route adopted by the accused persons after committing the crime and reached at Lajpat Nagar where it was revealed that they had already left from there.

The team worked on all the available aspects of the case. Through surveillance and technical analysis, two suspect mobile numbers were traced and their locations were obtained. On 29.10.2022, a trap was laid at Greater Noida and 02 accused persons were apprehended. Later on, they were identified as Mohd. Unus and and Mohd. Gulam Behrami (both are Iran nationals).

Upon their instance, 01 car, 04 fake number plates of car, 1,20,000/ Reyals, 120 Euro & 03 mobile phones were recovered. Further, upon their disclosure, 04 accused persons who got their fake Aadhar cards prepared namely Farsad Muradi, Madhusudan Saha, Ravi Yadav and Mohd. Kashim have been arrested. Upon the instance of accused Ravi Yadav, Aadhar making equipment and 01 Laptop have been recovered.

INTERROGATION : During the course of interrogation, Mohd. Gulam Behrami disclosed that he came to India in Feb 2020 alongwith his father in law Mohd. Unus @ Rizwan & family. They stayed at Lajpat Nagar in Delhi and started cheating foreign nationals in Delhi & other places. He further disclosed that in July 2022, he met 02 other Irani nationals and they planned to cheat foreign nationals by representing themselves as Police men/CBI officials and for this purpose they needed Indian ID to hire cars, SIM Cards etc.

Hence, in the month of July 2022, they met one Mohd. Kashim who offered them to get their Indian Aadhar card prepared against Rs 8000/. Hence, he (Mohd. Gulam Behrami) get his and his father in law Aadhar card prepared through Mohd Kashim against Rs 16000/-. But later they found that their Aadhar cards were not genuine.

After few days, he contacted another person namely Farsad (an Afgan national) who introduced him with Madhusudan @Raju and Ravi Kumar Yadav who prepared genuine Aadhar cards in the name of Mohd. Unus and Mohd. Gulam Behrami against Rs.19000/-.(SUBHEAD)

After that, they used to hire online private cars on rent and change its number plates. They used to procure fake number plate through a person who met them at Kashmiri Gate. Hence, after changing number plates of the hired private cars they targeted the places like hospitals where foreign nationals frequently visited. They stopped foreign nationals and introduced themselves as policemen/CBI officials. They checked their passport and asked them to get their belongings checked. As and when they noticed foreign currency like Euro /Dollar & other valuables, they snatched it and ran away in the car.

MODUS OPERANDI : Mr. Chandan Chowdhary, IPS, DCP, South Distt, said, the cheats portrayed themselves as Police Officers/CBI officials and targeted places where foreign Nationals used to visit. They used to hire online private cars and changed their number plates. They approached foreign nationals and asked them that they are Police/CBI officials and asked them to show their passports. Thereafter, they asked the target/victim to show their purse and at that time they snatched money or any valuables and fled away from the spot in the hired car.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS :  Mohd.Unus @ Rizwan R/o Bolvarferdos, Arishar, Tehran, Iran. Age 55 years.,  Mohd. Gulam Behrami R/o Bolvarferdos, Arishar, Tehran, Iran. Age 29 years., Farsad Muradi R/o IIT Express Park View, Sector Chai Fai Greater Noida. Age 43 years. An Afgan National.,  Madhusudan Saha R/o Masjid Lane Jungpura, Bhogal, Delhi. Age 40 years., Ravi Yadav R/o Shrinagar, Shakur Basti, Delhi. Age 23 years. (Associated with Aadhar). He is B.C.A. and an Adhar facilitator also., Mohd. Kashim R/o Vijay Mohalla, Moujpur, Jaffarabad, Delhi. Age 45 years.
