Police Station – Cyber Crime of Chandigarh Police has achieved a major success in arrest of four accused from Loni, Ghaziabad, U.P. in insurance fraud case. For this SP Cyber Crime formed a special team of Ps- Cyber Crime under the supervision of DSP/Cyber Crime headed by SHO, PS- Cyber Crime, in Case FIR No 20 dated 16.08.2022 U/s 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120 B IPC, PS CYBER CRIME, Chandigarh to apprehend the criminals involved in online cheating.
The brief of the case are that PS- Cyber Crime had received a complaint of Nirmal Singh, in which he mentioned that he is holding insurance policy of PNB Metlife and he contacted to PNB metlife about the maturity of his insurance policy but they informed that his policy amount is invested in share market and now the market is down.(SUBHEAD)
In the month of June 2022 he received call from unknown number that he is from PNB Metlife who also told his policy number and asked that there is some dispute about his insurance policy and said that send his ID proof, Adhar Card, 2 photos through courier on Mumbai Address. After that he again received call from same number that he will pursue his case and asked that deposit the amount first and then you will get Rs. 14 lacks as benefit and he provide two bank accounts and allurement he deposited Rs. 924000/- in their accounts.
During the course of investigation on 17.8.2022 accused (1) Noman S/o Zauddin, Khasra No. 550, Near Nagar Palika, Khanna Nagar, Loni, Distt Ghaziabad, U.P., Age 26 years (2) Nitin S/o Birsain, Vill Banthla, PS- Loni, Distt Ghaziabad, U.P., Age 26 years (3) Ashish Tiwari S/o Ved Parkash Tiwari, H.no A1-161, Gali No. 3, Nehru Vihar, Karawal Nagar Road, Delhi, Age 30 Years were arrested and case property related to present case has recovered from their possession and all arrestee were produced before the court on 18.8.2022 and police custody of all arrestee till 23.8.2022 was granted by court.
During the course of investigation one more accused Sonu Srivastava S/o Pappu Singh, Gali No. 3, W.no. 6, Swarup Vihar, Burari, Delhi, Age 27 years got arrested from Murthal, Haryana and mobile phone which was used to call the complainant got recovered from his possession and police custody of accused Sonu Srivastava till 24.8.2022 has been obtained for thorough investigation and clubbed interrogation of all accused and to recover the Debit cards of alleged bank accounts.
