As per the directions of the senior officers, the dedicated police team of PS Lahori Gate, North District Delhi was working to gather information regarding Proclaimed Offenders in Delhi and other areas of NCR.
Consequently, on 19.06.2022, ASI Azad of PS Lahori Gate received secret information through his reliable sources that one Proclaimed Offender namely Jony Verma Resident of Sector 39 Gurugram, who was previously found involved in an accident case registered at Police Station, Krishna Nagar is hiding himself from court proceedings in the area of Village Ghatta, Sector-55, Gurugram, Haryana. If raid is conducted well in time, he might be apprehended.
Above said information was passed to the senior officers and as per their directions, a dedicated police team comprising of ASI Azad Singh and HC Maninder was constituted, under the close supervision of Inspr. Vijender Rana, SHO/PS Lahori Gate and guidance of Shri Vijay Singh, ACP/Kotwali to conduct raid and nab the culprit/offender. Consequently, the above said police team proceeded to the place of information to conduct the raid.(SUBHEAD)
As per directions of senior officers and acting on the secret information as well as using the help of technical investigation, the dedicated police team laid a strategic trap there. The team by showing great sense of responsibility and alertness successfully apprehended the suspect during evening hours near from a jewelry shop, Sector-55, Gurugram, Haryana, who was identified as Jony Verma, age-28 years.
On sustained enquiry and checking in police record, the apprehended offender Jony Verma, age-28 years was found as a declared Proclaimed Offender (PO) by the order of Hon'ble Court of MM Karkardooma Court Delhi, dated 02.08.2019 in case FIR No. 16/11 dated 16.01.2011 u/s 279/336 IPC, PS Krishna Nagar, Delhi.
Accordingly, the offender was arrested u/s 41.1 (C) Cr.P.C. at PS Lahori Gate on the same day and investigation was taken up.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, North Distt., said during interrogation, the arrested/offender Jony Verma, age-28 years disclosed that during the intervening night of 15/16.01.2011 he was driving the Santro car of his brother-in-law in drunken condition near at Geeta Bal Bharti School and met with an accident, hence a case FIR No. 16/11 dated 16.01.2011 u/s 279/336 IPC was registered against him in PS Krishna Nagar, Delhi and subsequently he was released on court bail.
To evade the court proceedings, he was continuously changing his address in in the areas of Sector-39, Sector-55 and Sector-56, Gurugram, Panipat as well as in Raghubarpura Gandhi Nagar, Delhi. Further, the accused disclosed that he was engaged to earn his livelihood by doing job in a jewellery shop on rent basis in Gurugram, Haryana to survive his family i.e. an old aged mother, wife and two children.
Accordingly, the accused/offender has been produced before the concerned court well in time as per the provisions contained in Cr. PC. His previous antecedents are being verified.
