Concerned about the declining standards of politics in India and the increasing politicization of military-related issues, former military officers are now becoming vocal. In this context, around 50 senior retired officers from across the country will gather at the Chandigarh Press Club on Saturday, October 25, to deliberate on the topic “Military Rank, Title, and Protocol.”

Providing details about the event, Lt. Col. G.P.S. Virk (Retd.) said that the ex-servicemen community is worried about statements and decisions by politicians that affect the dignity of the armed forces. Policies such as “One Rank, One Pension” and “Agniveer” will also be discussed in depth.

He explained that the objective of this discussion is to send a message to the Defence Minister, Prime Minister, and President that the honour and discipline of the armed forces form the foundation of India’s unity and security. The resolutions passed during the seminar will be communicated to the top leadership via live tweets.

The seminar will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and senior retired officers from various northern states of India will participate.
