Doctors in the Department of Neurosurgery at Dr. S.S. Tantia Medical College Hospital and Research Center (Jan Seva Hospital) in Sri Ganganagar have successfully treated a patient whose nose was leaking cerebrospinal fluid. The patient was immediately admitted to the ICU, and treatment commenced without delay. The patient’s condition is now completely stable.
The patient’s ailment was initially diagnosed by Neuro-physician Dr. Abhimanyu Kalra, while Neurosurgeon Dr. Dheeraj Godara provided relief through a surgical intervention.
Vikram, a family member of the patient, Dharampal, explained that Dharampal had met with an accident in January of this year. During the incident, he sustained a spinal injury—specifically, an injury to his backbone. Although he subsequently recovered, a few days ago, fluid suddenly began leaking from his nose. He was then brought to Dr. Abhimanyu Kalra at Jan Seva Hospital. Based on diagnostic reports, Dr. Kalra suspected that cerebrospinal fluid was leaking from the patient’s brain and exiting through his nose. Following this assessment, Dr. Dheeraj Godara—Head of the Department of Neurosurgery—examined the patient, confirming the leakage of cerebrospinal fluid from the brain. Dr. Godara then performed surgery on the patient, successfully providing relief.
Dr. Mohit Tantia, Vice Chairperson of Tantia University, expressed his delight at the success achieved by the doctors at Jan Seva Hospital. He remarked that the manner in which the doctors handled this case of cerebrospinal fluid leakage—not only accurately diagnosing the condition but also saving the patient’s life through excellent surgery—is truly commendable.
