CHANDIGARH WITNESSED A LANDMARK MOMENT IN INDIAN DANCE SPORTS HISTORY TICKET TO MOSCOW FOR TWO STANDOUT COUPLES

The National Federation of Acrobatic & Dance Sports of India (NFADI), in affiliation with the World Federation of Acrobatic & Dance Sports (WFADS), organised India's 1st Coach Certification Programme in Chandigarh from 31st May – 5th June 2025 at The Sports Complex.

The renowned master trainers from Russia, Alexey and Svetlana Gavrilova for Acro Swing and Dimitry Lonov&Ziurniaeva Daria for Acrobatic Rock 'N' Roll, distinguished world champions in their fields delivered world class instructions to more than 60 aspiring coaches and performers from 9 states of India including Jammu, Amritsar, Delhi, Jaipur, Ludhiana, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Jharkhand and Assam.

The Trainers and the participants showcased an outstanding performance, blending passion, energy, and skill in every step and also embracing a lifestyle of fitness and sportsmanship.

(MOREPIC2)(SUBHEAD)The Chandigarh Mayor, Harpreet Kaur Babla appreciated the initiative and was glad that Chandigarh is showcasing India's 1st such event and wished the organizers for taking this dance sport to next level. She said this event will open doors to exciting opportunities for the performers.

The highlight of the event was announcement of two standout couples (one from each category – Acrobatic Rock and Roll & Acro Swing) who have received a fully-sponsored 15-day intensive training trip to Moscow, under the aegis of WFADS.

WFADS President Oumy Sene, who personally attended the training in Chandigarh, expressed her admiration for India’s energy and promise:  “India holds deep cultural rhythm and untapped talent. The participation of 62 individuals from 9 states clearly shows the hunger and commitment here. We at WFADS see great potential in India becoming a global leader in acrobatic dance sports.”

NFADI President Jasmeet Kaur Shan shared her vision for the sport:

“This dynamic blend of dance, acrobatics, and fitness is not just an art—it’s a sport with Olympic potential. India’s dancers, gymnasts, and fitness enthusiasts now have a powerful new avenue to compete globally, and this certification is just the beginning.”

NFADI General Secretary Gurjeet Bajwa added:

“It’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of a sport that is vibrant, disciplined, and forward-looking. This is a moment of transformation for the Indian dance and fitness community.”

Punjabi film Industry Stalwart B N Sharma and a renowned actor, Director and anchor Shavinder Mahal graced the occasion, encouraged and gave blessings to the participants for the wonderful show.

NFADI announced the winners for further coaching in Moscow for 2 dance forms:
