CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATION ORDERS TO CONDUCT MAGISTERIAL INEQUIRY INTO DEATH OF PU STUDENT ADITYA THAKUR

The Distt. Magiatrate orders to conduct a Magisterial Inquiry by Sh. Naveen, DANICS, SDM (Central) to enquire into the unfortunate death of one student namely Aditya Thakur, (2nd year Computer Science student of UIET, Panjab University) during one concert of Haryanvi Singer, Masoom Sharma, organised in Panjab University, South Campus, Sector-25 on 28.03.2025.

The enquiry officer shall inquire into the whole incident, which led to the unfortunate death of Mr. Aditya Thakur and will submit the report within two weeks. The Inquiry Officer will be at liberty to associate any personnel of Panjab University along with other stakeholders associated in organising the said concert.

(SUBHEAD)The Magisterial Inquiry should include report on following aspects:-

*The circumstances under which the student was stabbed during/after the said concert being organised in the university campus itself.

*To identify the security lapses on the part of stakeholders concerned.

*To make recommendations in respect of preparing a standard operating procedure (SOP) to organise any such event/concert/shows inside the university campus so as to prevent any such incident in future.
