A baby with 5 kg 260 gm weight was born in the Jan Seva Hospital, in Tantia University campus, Sriganganagar. Normally, the weight of babies born is between three to 3.5kg. There are very few babies weighing more than five kg in the country.

Hospital's Chief Administrative Officer Prof. Baljit Kuldiya said that the baby's mother, Reshma of village Kalian, is 30 years old. Since pregnancy, she has been undergoing treatment in the PHC of the nearby village. She used to go there for regular check-ups. The doctor had given her the date of 16 January for delivery. The delivery did not take place on the scheduled time.

(SUBHEAD)Reshma had pain in her stomach after nine days. On this, the family brought her to Jan Seva Hospital. Treatment was started. When a caesarean delivery was done, Reshma gave birth to a baby weighing 5 kg 260 gm. Now both mother and child are healthy.

Reshma's husband Mangal Singh drives an e-rickshaw. Earlier, Reshma had a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, who was born through caesarean delivery. Mangal Singh is happy thinking about his son. He says that earlier he had a daughter and now he has got a son, his wish has been fulfilled.

Reshma's delivery was conducted by Jan Seva Hospital's gynaecologist and obstetrician Dr. Nidhi Dhingra. She was assisted by paediatrician Dr. Suryalata Kukna and anaesthesia specialist Dr. Naveen Jain. Nursing staff Ramkumar also performed his duty well.
