CBI ARRESTED ASSTT. POST MASTER ACCEPTING ILLEGAL GRATIFICATION OF RS. 10 THOUSANDS

CBI arrested accused Assistant Post Master, SBSO Branch, Firozabad (UP) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000/- from the complainant Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Postal Assistant, working as Assistant Post Master of SBSO Branch, Head Post Office, Suhag Nagar, Firozabad for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000/- from the complainant. 

A case was registered by CBI on 16.01.2025 against said accused on allegations that accused demanded illegal gratification of Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant for withdrawal of around Rs. 1,50,000/- from the joint saving bank account of complainant and his mother. 

It was also alleged in the complaint that father of the complainant who died on 14 November, 2024 had a PPF account in Firozabad Post Office. The whole amount of the PPF account was transferred to the joint account of nominees viz. the complainant and mother of complainant. It was further alleged that to withdraw the remaining amount of around ₹1,50,000/- from the joint account of nominees, accused demanded bribe of ₹10,000/-. 

CBI laid a trap and caught accused red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000/-from the complainant. Later, accused was arrested and will be produced before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, CBI cases, Ghaziabad. 

Investigation is continuing.
