DESIGNATED COURT SENTENCES THEN ASSISTANT, WEAVER'S SERVICE CENTRE, INDORE TO FOUR YEARS’ RI IN BRIBERY

The Ld. Special Judge for CBI Cases, Indore (M.P) on Friday i.e. 22.11.2024 sentenced accused Shri Rajeev Kumar Sinha, then Assistant, Weaver's Service Centre, Indore to four Years’ Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) in a case of bribery.

A case was registered on the basis of a complaint dated 04.05.2017 of a Multi Tasking Staff (MTS), Weaver's Service Centre, Indore against Shri Rajeev Kumar Sinha, Assistant, Weaver's Service Centre, Indore alleging therein that Shri Rajeev Kuman Sinha, Assistant, Weaver's Service Centre, Indore had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs. 10,000/-. Later, accused Shri Rajeev Kumar Sinha, Assistant agreed to accept Rs. 3,000/- as bribe money from complainant for confirmation of his services.

CBI laid a trap and caught accused red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs. 3,000/- from the complainant. Following the trap, accused was arrested.

After the completion of investigation, charge sheet was filed on 28.06.2017 against the accused. After trial, the Court found the accused guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
