In furtherance of 'Zero Tolerance' policy against drugs, Delhi Police is determined to root out the menace of drugs and constantly striking upon the Inter-state and international drug traffickers. Accordingly, various operations and campaigns are being run by districts and units of Delhi Police including the Crime Branch.
The sleuths of ANTF, Crime Branch, in a robust strategy with a clear mandate of “NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABHIYAAN” nabbed twodrug traffickers, namely Santan Goswami andIkechukwu, (a Nigerian national). TheANTF, Crime has busted an international supply network of MDMA, Ecstasy tablets,clandestinely active in the areas of Delhi-NCR, and seized 6790 Ecstasy tablets & fine MDMA weighing 3 Kg. In this regard case FIR No. 226/2024, dated 14.11.2024 u/s 22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi.
OPERATION HIGHLIGHTS: –
• International-Level Drug Network Busted: A well-organized Narco-syndicate, distributing restricted drugs across internationally, has been taken down. Two principal operatives involved in the illegal sale of banned narcotics have been arrested.
• Seizure of High-Value Narcotics: Approximately ₹4 crore worth of narcotic MDMA and ECSTASY TABLETS have been seized, underscoring the network’s scale and reach.
• Supply Chain Identified: The seized contraband has been traced to suppliers in Delhi-NCR, with connections to distribution channels extending into Himachal and Goa, and confirmed sources of certain drugs traced back to Delhi, indicating a complex inter-national operation.
(SUBHEAD)On 14.11.2024, ANTF, Crime Branch, received a tip-off regarding a trafficker, namely Santan Goswami, r/o Loni, Ghaziabad, UP, peddling in illegaldrugs MDMA, Cocaine, Ecstasy. The information was further developed.Thereafter,a team comprised of SI Rohit Saini, Amrender, ASI Mukesh, HC Sanjay, HCs Pawan, Anuj, and Ct Harish, led by Inspector Jasbir and Insp. Vikas Pannu and supervised by ACP Raj Kumar, was formed to intercept the drug peddler, with overall supervision from Sh. Bhisham Singh, DCP, ANTF, Crime. Resultantly, acting upon the information, the team intercepted the route near Kalibari Appartment, Gol Market, Delhi, and arrested one Santan Goswami from Kalibari Appartment, Gol Market, Delhi, in possession of 33 grams of MDMA, i.e. is a commercial quantity under the NDPS Act. A case was registered under FIR No. 226/2024, dated 14.11.2024 u/s 22/25 NDPS Act at PS Crime Branch, Delhi, uncovering a consignment of MDMA.
Further investigation resulted in the arrest of another accused, a Nigerian named IKECHUKWU, who was residing in Chattarpur and was one of Santan's suppliers. During this, a total of 47 grams of high-grade MDMA was also recovered from his possession.
Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police, said, during the search of his rented house, data of four parcel tracking IDs were discovered, which were examined and it was revealed that the parcels were dispatched from abroad. His further source is named as Frank, an African national. During the investigation, the discovered parcels, tracking IDs linked with the Foreign Post Office. These four parcels contained 6790 Ecstasy Tablets weighing 3.037 Kg worth Rs 4 crore.
INTERROGATION & PROFIE OF ACCUSED: –
• Santan Goswami (Drug Peddler): He worked as a taxi driver earlier. Then he came in contact with one African national, who was involved in the supply of MDMA, Ecstasy, and Cocaine. He had contacts of consumers of drugs through as his profile of Taxi Driver. He used to supply mainly in posh area like Connaught Place and its adjacent areas etc.
• IKECHUKWU: He originally hails from Nigeria. He came to India eight years ago. Initially, he was residing in Kolkata, and then he moved to Faridabad, and presently, he is residing in Chattarpur, Delhi. He is a key member of a drug syndicate.
The ANTF, Crime Branch has been pursuing drug traffickers who are distributing drugs among the general public as well as those who have an international and interstate drug trafficking network. Further investigation is in progress.
