MAHARASHTRA WINS ALL INDIA NAU SAINIK CAMP TROPHY FOR SECOND YEAR

The All India Nau Sainik Camp was conducted under the aegis of DG NCC at INS Shivaji, Lonavala. A total of 612 Cadets from 17 directorates from all over India participated in the Camp. Some of the activities that were conducted during the Camp were Boat Pulling, Rigging, Semaphore, Service subjects, Health & Hygiene and Firing. The NCC Directorate Maharashtra contingent won the prestigious trophy and was adjudged the best team in the overall performance at the Nau Sainik Camp for second time in a row.

The Nau Sainik Camp was inaugurated by Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh AVSM, NM Commandant National Defence Academy. The DG NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh PVSM, AVSM, VSM visited the Nau Sainik Camp where he interacted and felicitated selected Cadets for their exceptional performance in Firing and Semaphore.

The Nau Sainik Camp closing ceremony was attended by Maj Gen S Chawla, VSM ADG (B), HQ DG NCC. Maj Gen Yogender Singh, VSM, ADG NCC Directorate Maharashtra said it was a stupendous achievement to win the Nau Sainik Camp trophy consecutively for the last two years. He also thanked the CO, INS Shivaji & the Southern Naval Command as well as the Govt of Maharashtra who provided unstinted support to the NCC Cadets in all their endeavors.
