In a coordinated, intelligence based operation, conducted by the Special Cell of Delhi Police in association with State Police forces of Jharkhand, Rajasthan and UP, an AQ inspired module has been busted.
The module, as per current state of operations, was being led by one Dr. Ishtiyaq of Ranchi and was aspiring to declare Khilafat and execute serious terrorist activities within the country.The members of the module have received indoctrination and weapons training at various locations. Six individuals have been detained from Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, while actually undergoing weapon-handling training.
Apart from this about eight suspects in all have been detained from Jharkhand and UP for questioning.
Interrogations are currently underway at various locations and additional arrests are anticipated. Recoveries of arms, ammunition, literature etc. from several locations are also in progress.
The operation is ongoing so no byte is possible at this stage. However so far 15 places in Ranchi, 1 in Rajasthan and 1 in Aligarh have been raided.
