The Spl. Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Court No. 2, Lucknow has today sentenced accused Manoranjan Kartik, then Branch Manager, Allahabad Bank, Bahraich (UP) to 5 years' Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 20,000/- in a case related to bribery.
CBI had registered a case against accused Manoranjan Kartik, then Branch Manager, Allahabad Bank, Bahraich (UP) on allegations that said accused demanded bribe of Rs.10,000/- from complainant for sanctioning personal loan of Rs.3.5 lakh.
CBI laid a trap and caught said accused, then Branch Manager, Allahabad Bank, Bahraich (UP) red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 9,500/- from the complainant. Accused was subsequently arrested.
After the completion of investigation, charge sheet was filed on 29.06.2017 against the accused.
The Court, after trial, found the accused guilty and sentenced him accordingly.
