In a major step toward enhancing performance across formats, the UT Cricket Association (UTCA) has announced the appointment of bowling and fielding coaches for both men's and women's teams for the ongoing 2025–26 season.

The development was shared by UTCA President Sanjay Tandon while addressing the Under-21 and Under-19 players during their orientation programs ahead of their new zonal domestic season.

Tandon acknowledged the exceptional performances of UT’s Ranji Trophy squad and other format teams in recent years but emphasized the need to further bolster fitness and skill-specific areas, particularly bowling and fielding. “There has always been scope for improvement in these departments. With the addition of these specialized coaches, we expect our teams to perform with greater consistency and competitiveness,” he said

The newly appointed coaches will be actively involved throughout the domestic season, focusing on refining players' technical skills and physical preparedness. Tandon also stressed the importance of discipline and strong technique which he believes are key differentiators in modern competitive cricket. “Today’s emerging talents have intensified the competition. To stay ahead, players must master three core strengths — technique, discipline and fitness,” he added

Earlier, UTCA Secretary Devender Sharma underlined the success of Gully Cricket with the inclusion of six players from the recently concluded tournament in the under 19 team for domestic seasons.

The event was graced by several key UTCA officials. Among those present were Joint Secretary Ravinder Billa, Apex Council Member Daniel Banerjee, Selectors Ravinder Nain, Vijay Mathur, Bharat Loomba, Amit Uniyal and Vishwas Bhalla. Coaches Vineet Jain and Ravi Kant Sharma along with trainer Vishal Singh and others.
