Under the guidance of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP Operations, UT, Chandigarh, under the supervision of Sh. Vikas Sheokand, DSP Operations, a team of Chandigarh Police Operation Cell headed by headed by Inspector Ranjit Singh, I/C Operation Cell arrested 03 vehicle lifters namely Aman S/o Pahal Singh R/o @ 25 Amba Farm, Maloya, Chandigarh, Amit S/o Sant Kumar Gupta R/o # 10A, Harmilap Nagar, Baltana, Mohali (Pb) and Shivam @ Monu S/oRavinder R/o # 371, Saini Vihar, Baltana (Punjab) from Golf Turn, Sector-26, Chandigarh along with stolen Activa Scooters No. PB-07-AR-5405 & CH01-BM-8939 were recovered from their possession.
As per the directions and to prevent / detect crime in the city Chandigarh Police Operations Cell deployed its teams in the area of U.T Chandigarh to keep vigil on the anti social elements, wanted criminals / gangsters etc.
On 17.08.2025, upon secret information, team of Operation Cell deployed a special naka near Golf Turn, Sector-26, Chandigarh. During the checking, team stopped two persons riding on an Activa Scooter No. PB07-AR-5405. On asking they disclosed their name as Amit S/o Sant Kumar Gupta and Shivam @ Monu S/o Ravinder both are resident of Baltana (Pb).
On verification, they failed to produce any valid document pertaining to the Scooter. On scrutiny of record, it is found that the said Activa Scooter is a stolen vehicle and is wanted in case E-FIR No. 788 dated 13.07.2025 U/s 303 (2) BNS, Police Station Sector-3, Chandigarh.
Both the accused Amit S/o Sant Kumar Gupta and Shivam @ Monu S/o Ravinder R/o Baltana (Pb) have been arrested by the team of Operation Cell and recovered stolen Activa Scooter from their possession. During investigation it came to light that the Activa Scooter No. PB07-AR-5405 was stolen from the parking area, back side of Chandigarh Police Headquarter and the Activa belongs to a Lady Constable of Chandigarh Police.
Further, another team of Operation Cell also succeed to arrest a auto lifter namely Aman S/o Pahal Singh R/o Maloya, Chandigarh during the naka / patrolling duty near National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR), Sector-26, Chandigarh and recovered an stolen Activa Scooter CH-01-BM-8939 from his possession. This Activa Scooter was wanted in EFIR No.800, dated 16.07.2025, U/s 303 (2) BNS, PS-SRP, Chandigarh.
KNOW THEACCUSED: Aman S/o Pahal Singh Present Address R/o Amba Farm, Maloya, Chandigarh Age 25 year. Previous criminal records : involved in FIR No 185/2024 U/s 304 (2), 317 (2), 3(5) BNS, PS-39, Chd Shivam @ Monu S/o Ravinder Present Address R/o Saini Vihas, Baltana, Punjab Age 25 year, Previous criminal records . He is involved in FIR No 165/2019 U/s 147, 148, 149, 323, 341, 506 IPC, PS Zirakpur, Punjab., FIR No 93/2022 U/s 379, 411, 34 IPC, PS- Manimajra, Chd, FIR No 94/2022 U/s 379, 411, 34 IPC, PS- Manimajra, Chd
Amit S/o Sant Kumar Gupta Present Address R/o Harmilap Nagar, Baltana, Punjab Age 27 year
The accused person produced before the Hon’ble Court and sent to judicial custody.
