In Sriganganagar district hospital, patients suffering from bone and joint ailments are now receiving advanced medical facilities right at their doorstep. The dedicated medical team has completed 600 successful surgeries in the past 15 months, these include 525 knee replacements and 75 hip replacements. Hundreds of other patients have also been given relief through medications and non-surgical treatments. This achievement stands as a vibrant example of strengthening access to healthcare for poor patients in rural areas.

Under the leadership of Principal Medical Officer (PMO) Dr. Deepak Monga, the Bone and Joint Disease Department head Dr. KK Jakhar, Dr. Sumit Pensia, Dr. Pradeep and staff have played a crucial role in this success.

Dr. Monga said that the estimated cost per surgery ranges from Rs one to 1.5 lakh but under the Ayushman Bharat Arogya Scheme and the Rajasthan government's RGHS, completely free treatment is being provided to all state residents.

86-year-old Dayaram Jandu from Daulatpura village had been suffering from severe knee pain for a long time, which had made him completely unable to walk. After examination, the doctors advised knee replacement surgery, which was successfully performed last Saturday.

57-year-old Meena Sharma from Jaitsar village underwent knee replacement surgery four days ago, after which she has fully recovered. On behalf of her family, Guddi Devi expressed gratitude to Dr. KK Jakhar and the entire team.

Sumitra Devi (52) Suratgarh faced severe difficulty in walking due to knee pain and was dependent on various medications, but no permanent relief was in sight. After the surgery, she is now living her normal life, managing household chores, and has no complaints of pain.
