MINISTRY OF INFORMATION & BROADCASTING, GoI ORGANISES SHRAMDAAN UNDER ‘SWACHHATA HI SEVA’ CAMPAIGN

The Central Bureau of Communication, Amritsar of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, organized Shramdaan on thursday as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. As part of the ongoing campaign across the country, a cleanliness drive was carried out in White Avenue, Amritsar, in which a large number of local residents as well as sanitation workers actively participated.

On this occasion, officials of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting stated that the Government has launched several welfare schemes for the benefit of the people, including the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, but active participation of the people is essential for making it a success. It was urged to the local community to contribute towards making the cleanliness campaign a success. It was also highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, initiatives such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Fit India have been successfully taken to the grassroots level with the active role of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

Under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign, a nationwide cleanliness drive is being conducted from 17th September to 2nd October, with large-scale participation from the common people. Appreciating the Ministry’s efforts, local residents said that such initiatives are a commendable step in spreading awareness among the people about government schemes.

During the program, officials of the Ministry, along with social workers, also addressed the gathering and appealed to make this campaign a success at the grassroots level.
