CBI COURT IN MP SENTENCES FORMER SUB POST MASTER TO 5 YEARS RI FOR MISAPPROPRIATION OF OVER RS. 70 LAKH

The CBI Court, Jabalpur, on 25.09.2025, has convicted and sentenced the accused Vishal Kumar Ahirwar, the then Sub Post Master, Sub Post Office, Khimlasa, District Sagar, M.P. to 5 Years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with a fine of Rs. 32,000/- for misappropriation of Rs. 70.97 lakhs. 

CBI registered the instant case on 17.11.2022 against the accused Vishal Kumar Ahirwar, the then the then Sub Post Master at the Khimlasa Sub Post Office, District Sagar (MP), on the allegation that during the period from 23.06.2020 to 19.03.2022, the accused Vishal Kumar Ahirwar misused his official position and fraudulently effected withdrawals from multiple accounts maintained at the Khimlasa Sub Post Office by issuing forged withdrawal slips and making false entries in passbook. As a result, the accused Vishal Kumar Ahirwar caused a wrongful loss of Rs. 70.97 Lakhs to the government exchequer and corresponding gain to himself.

After investigation, CBI filed charge sheet against the accused in the Court of Hon’ble Spl. Judge, CBI Cases, Jabalpur on 23.11.2023.

The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused accordingly.
