JAIVEER JAKHAR WINS FIRST PRIZE IN PAU SUGARCANE EXHIBITION

Progressive farmer and Panjkosi resident Jaiveer Jakhar has won first prize in the sugarcane exhibition competition during the Farmers' Fair held at the Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana.

The two-day Fair concluded yesterday at the Punjab Agricultural University in which farmers from across the state participated. Jaiveer Jakhar also participated with his sugarcane crop and secured first place in Punjab in terms of production.

Jaiveer Jakhar received the first prize during the felicitation ceremony held on Saturday. It is noteworthy that for the past three consecutive years, Jakhar Farm has been winning first prize in different competitions for various crops. On this occasion, he was presented with a certificate and a memento by the invited dignitaries and university experts.

Notably, Jaiveer is son of Ajay Vir Jakhar and grandson of former Irrigation and Cooperatives Minister Sajjan Kumar Jakhar. His great grandfather Bal Ram Jakhar, who served as Union Agriculture Minister, Lok Sabha Speaker and Governor too had won several prizes and was conferred with the Udyan Pandit national award.
