Presence of “messengers of peace” kept the atmosphere during the Retreat Ceremony parade at Sadki by Border Security Force pleasant, ahead of Diwali celebrations.

BK Shantanu, National Coordinator of Media Wing of Brahmakumaris, has been waiting to see the retreat ceremony for the past twenty years. For him and BK Manik Rajvani, who had come from Brahma Kumaris headquarters Abu Road, it was a rare occasion.

Shantanu Bhai said Dadi Prakashmani, former chief administrator of Brahma Kumaris, had been honoured by the United Nations Organisation (UNO) with the “Messenger of Peace” Award for motivating heads of many countries around the world to maintain peace. Countries can prosper only if they believe in peace and welfare of all the communities.

(SUBHEAD)Others present included Lekhak Parishad president Raj Sadosh, former Forest Range Officer Subhash Chander, Border Area Development Council president Liladhar Sharma and a retired officer of Revenue Department Mohinder Tripathi. Thousands of Indian and Pakistan nationals were present in the galleries on both sides of the border. There were no tense moments during the ceremony.

Shantanu Bhai not only presented a box of sweets to BSF personnel, but also had the immense pleasure of serving ladoos with his own hand to Company Commander Bisram Meena and others. He appreciated the authorities for installing a 200 ft high Tri-color near the Sadki joint check post and said this will strengthen patriotism among the visitors. “We must respect our national flag and saviours of the border”, he said.
