The Gang Mahotsav was celebrated with dignitaries paying floral tribute while the splendour of folk arts made the whole atmosphere colourful.

The tribute meeting was held at Ganga Singh Chowk in the memory of the visionary Maharaja Ganga Singh, who laid the foundation of Sriganganagar. Led by District Collector Dr. Manju, the ceremony saw the presence of many officials and politicians.

(SUBHEAD)Havan-Yagna and Pooja-Archana organized at Shivpur Head of Gang Canal gave spiritual dimension to the festival. Pandit Krishnakumar Tiwari conducted the havan with rituals, while the girls' all-religion prayer meeting sought blessings for the prosperity of the district. Here the guests visited the museum built in the memory of the Maharaja, where old photographs, documents and artefacts were bringing alive the journey of the city. Tributes were also paid to the late Karni Singh Rathore, who has been a part of the city's growth story. After the puja, the sight of the flow of Shrifal and flowers in the Gang Canals was very charming, as if the river itself was witnessing history.

Cultural programmes organised at the initiative of the Tourism Department made the festival a vibrant one. Folk dances of Rajasthan and Punjab enthralled. After paying homage, the guests planted saplings to spread the message of environment conservation.
