Face2News/Doda (Jammu & Kashmir):

In a tragic accident, 10 Indian Army personnel lost their lives after an Army vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Thursday afternoon. Around 10 other soldiers were injured, with 2–3 reported to be in critical condition.

The accident occurred in the Khani Top area on the Bhaderwah–Chamba road when the vehicle, carrying about 20 soldiers to a higher-altitude post, reportedly lost control and fell into a gorge.

Following the incident, Army and local administration teams rushed to the spot and launched rescue and relief operations despite difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions. The injured soldiers were given first aid and shifted to hospitals.

Critically injured personnel were airlifted to the Army Command Hospital in Udhampur, while others are being treated in Doda under continuous medical observation.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and said all necessary directions have been issued to ensure the best medical treatment for the injured. Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha also condoled the deaths, assuring full support to the affected families and proper medical care for the injured.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh termed the incident extremely painful and confirmed that all possible medical assistance is being provided. The nation mourns the loss of its brave soldiers.
