RAJA AND SHARAN GO DOWN FIGHTING IN DOUBLES FINAL IN FRANCE

(MOREPIC1)  FRANCE: Second seeded Netherland pair of Sander Arends and David Pel just managed to beat spirited Indian duo of Purav Raja and Divij Sharan in an evenly fought doubles final by 6-7 (1 ) 7-6 (6) 10-6 in the € 67,960 Open de Vendee, Mouilleron le Captif, France. The title-clash lasted nearly two hours.

Raja and Sharan won 79 percent points (42/53) on first serve and 38 percent points (12/32) on the second serve. They could save one out of three break points. The Indian pair served a solitary ace but committed four double faults.

Sander Arends and David Pel won 73 percent points (40/55) on first serve and 48 percent points (13/27) on second serve. The Dutch pair saved four out of six breakpoints. They served three aces and committed three double faults.

The doubles winners received a paycheck of € 3950 and 90 points. Raja and Sharan earned € 350 and 55 points.

YUKI AND MYNENI LOSE: Third seeded Indian pair of Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni went down fighting to Nicolas Barrientos of Colombia and Miguel-Angel Reyes-Varela of Mexico by 2-5, 6-3, 10-6 in the doubles final of the $ 53,120 Gwangju Open Challenge, South Korea, on Saturday.

Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni earned $ 1800 and 50 points while Nicolas and Miguel-Angel earned $3100 and 80 points.
