A team of NDR, Crime Branch, New Delhi has arrested the absconder accused Ankit Choudhary, 33 years R/o Village Wazirpur, Delhi from Village Garhi- Bhatgaon, Sonepat, Haryana. Accused came on two days interim bail granted for the marriage of his younger brother in the intervening night of 21 & 22 April 2022 and didn’t return to jail, and became untraceable.
(MOREPIC1)A team of NDR/Crime Branch was keeping overt and covert watch on activities of the gangsters & absconding criminals in Delhi & NCR. During this exercise it came to notice that one desperate criminal namely Ankit Choudary R/o Village Wazirpur, Delhi, who has been involved in many heinous cases in Delhi. He was arrested in two murder cases registered vide FIR No’s. 169/2010 u/s-302/120B/34/201/216 IPC & 25/24/54 Arms Act PS Ashok Vihar, Delhi; & 170/2020 u/s-302/120B/34/201/216 IPC & 25/24/54 Arms Act PS- Ashok Vihar, Delhi.
Accused was granted two days interim bail for the marriage of his younger brother by court. In the intervening night of 21st-22 April 2022 he escaped from his house.
It also came to notice that the accused Ankit Choudary was frequently seen at Sonepat, Haryana. On the above information, a dedicated team led by Insp. Rampal was deployed to work on further information and to develop about the exact place of stay of the wanted criminal. The team zeroed on the movement of absconding accused Ankit Choudary.(SUBHEAD)
A dedicated team of NDR/ Crime Branch, R.K Puram comprising of Inspr. Rampal, SI Mukesh, SI Imran Khan, SI Hemant, ASI Narender, ASI Umardeen, HC Amit Sindhu, HC Amit Gulia, HC Sanjay, HC Ram Das, HC Ombir, HC Siddarth and Ct. Ashish under the supervision of Umesh Barthwal ACP/NDR was constituted by Sh. Amit Goel, DCP/Crime.
The team conducted a raid at Village Garhi- Bhatgaon, Sonipat, Haryana and apprehended the accused Ankit Choudary from there.
INTERROGATION: Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police Crime, said during interrogation, accused Ankit Choudary disclosed that he completed his higher secondary from a Govt. School at Ashok Vihar, Delhi. He had one younger brother Puneet and an elder sister Monika. In the year 2006, his sister Monika married one Kuldeep, resident of their vicinity, but who belonged to a different community. After marriage, Monika & Kuldeep shifted from Wazirpur.
In the year 2010, they again came to Wazirpur, Ashok Vihar and started residing there. The accused Ankit Choudary was aggrieved by this act of his sister and felt that this act of his sister let down the name of his family. At the same time, some other incidents of love-marriages happened in village Wazirpur. The accused Ankit and friends of his community believed that all this was started by the inter-caste marriage of Monika & Kuldeep. So they hatched a conspiracy to kill Monika, Kuldeep & one girl namely Shobha to send a message to their community.
On 20/06/2010, accused Ankit Choudary first killed his brother-in-law Kuldeep by firing at him thrice in his car. Then Ankit went to the house of his sister Monika and shot her also. A case vide FIR no. 169/2010 dt. 21/06/2010 u/s-302/120B/34/201/216 IPC & 25 Arms Act PS Ashok Vihar, Delhi. Then accused Ankit was also involved in killing of a girl namely Shobha a case vide FIR No. 170/2010 dt. 22/06/2010 u/s-302/120B/34/201/216 IPC & 25 Arms Act PS Ashok Vihar, Delhi was registered in this regard. Brother of deceased girl Shobha, namely Mandeep was also involved in the crime.
Brother of deceased girl Shobha, Mandeep believed that her sister Shobha had love affairs with a boy of other community. Both Mandeep and Ankit were childhood friends. They along with other arrested accused persons hatched a conspiracy to kill Shobha.
The other accused persons are in judicial custody and matter is pending trial and is in final stage. In the intervening night of 21 & 22 April 2022, accused jumped interim bail, granted for two days for attending marriage of his younger brother. The accused Ankit Chaudary was declared absconder on 07/09/2022 by the court. Accused Ankit has also previously involved in a hurt case registered vide FIR No. 17/2009 u/s 323/341/34 IPC PS Ashok Vihar.
