As per the direction of Senior Officers, the team of Anti-Narcotics Cell, North District has been working relentlessly to curb drug supply and to develop information about drug peddlers active in North District, Delhi. The team collected details of such drug peddlers who are active in Delhi and deployed secret informers to nab them.
Keeping in view the direction, a dedicated police team comprising of Inspr. Surender Singh, SI Dinesh Kumar, ASI Nandu Kishor, ASI Sanjeev, ASI Dinesh, HC Praveen Saini, HC Bal Krishan, HC Rakesh, HC Ravinder Dhaka, W/HC Sapna, Ct Vicky, Ct Gurpreet, Ct Ashish and W/Ct Sainki under the close supervision of Shri Dharmender Kumar, ACP/Operation Cell, North District and overall guidance of undersigned has been constituted to work against drug peddling. The above said police team has been working relentlessly developing information about active drug peddlers and used to randomly patrol in the notorious areas in odd hours to keep a check on such illegal activities.
Consequently, on 06-12-2022, W/HC Sapna received secret information through his reliable sources about drug trafficking activities near Old Wazirabad Bridge, towards Wazirabad flyover area. As per the directions of Senior Officers and acting upon the secret information, a raid was conducted at that place and two persons, later on identified as Sabana Khatoon, age 24 Years & Bilal, age 38 years were apprehended. During the personal search of accused persons, fine quality Opium (Afeem) weighing approximately 3.6 Kilograms recovered from their possession.(SUBHEAD)
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 376/22 dated 06-12-2022 u/s 18/29 NDPS Act was registered at PS Timarpur, Delhi and investigation was taken up.
INTERROGATION: Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, North Distt, said, on sustained interrogation, the accused Sabana Khatoon, age-24 years disclosed that she got married in 2018 and she along with her husband shifted from Jharkhand to Haryana. Her husband was doing labour job in Panipat Haryana, she wanted to live a lavish life style and for that he divorced her husband. After divorce, she came to Delhi and started residing at the area of Karawal Nagar, Delhi and started a job in a garment factory but again she was not satisfied with her income there. She met two persons r/o Haridwar & r/o Bareily, UP, who lured her in the business of drug trafficking. After which she started supplying Opium (Afeem) which she used to receive from these two.
Further, the accused Bilal, age-38 years disclosed that he wanted to earn some easy money, so he shifted to Delhi from his native village Bichhora, PS Ushait, Badaun, UP and started residing at the area of Usmanpur, Delhi and working as a mason in many parts of Delhi, but was unsatisfied with his income. At the same time around, he met one person r/o Badaun, UP, who lured him in the business of drug trafficking and on the directions of Bimlesh, he has supplied Opium (Afeem).
DETAILS OF THE ACCUSED PERSONS: Sabana Khatoon, age 24 Years, Bilal s/o Kallu r/o Vijay Colony, New Usmanpur Jagjeet Nagar, Garhi Mendu, Delhi, Age 38 Years
RECOVERY:Total 3.6 Kilogram Gram Opium (Afeem). (3.1 Kg FROM SABANA KHATOON AND 500 GRAM FROM BILAL).
Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to nab the main suppliers.
