Three drug peddlers arrested 22.400 kg ganja seized

The Anti Narcotics Squad of South East District has arrested three drug peddlers Veer Singh, Rajendra @ Rajesh and Rajkumar @ Baba. With their arrest, 22.400 kg ganja has been recovered from their possession.
(MOREPIC1) To curve down the sale of contraband in the area of Southeast District, a dedicated team comprising ASI Sulemuddin, HC Binod, HC Vinod, HC Subodh, HC Hidayat, HC Mahender and Ct Pankaj led by Inspr Rajender Singh Dagar I/C ANS/SED under the supervision of Sh. Manoj Sinha, ACP/Ops was constituted to nab the active drug peddlers in the area of Southeast District.(SUBHEAD)
On 08.12.2022, the team received a secret piece of information that one person would come to Kalindi Kunj area to sell psychotropic substances to an unknown person. Responding to the secret tip received, the team laid down a trap near Indane Gas plant, Agra Canal Road, Madanpur Khadar, Delhi under the directions of senior officials. Soon after, the team noticed a person at that place who was carrying two bags. The secret informer pointed towards him and conveyed that he is the alleged drug peddler. The team at once apprehended him.
On checking his bags, they were found containing ganja weighing about 22.400 kg in aggregate. On enquiry, he was identified as Veer Singh s/o Dalchand R/o Bharatpur, Rajasthan age 43 yrs. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 529/22 u/s 20/61/85 NDPS Act was registered at PS Kalindi Kunj. Further on his instance, his associates namely Rajendra @ Rajesh and Rajkumar @ Baba have also been arrested from Bhim Basti, South Delhi who used to help him in supplying psychotropic substances. With their arrest, 22.400 kg ganja has been recovered from their possession. Further investigation of the case is under progress.
INTERROGATION:- On sustained interrogation, accused Rajkumar @ Baba disclosed that he was influenced by one of the drug peddlers active in South Delhi who used to bring ganja from Orrisa. As he was not earning enough from his tea stall, he thought drug peddling an easy to earn quick money. Further accused Rajendra @ Rajesh came in contact with Rajkumar @ Baba and started supplying psychotropic substances in Delhi with him.
Esha Pandey, IPS, DCP, said, during interrogation, accused Veer Singh disclosed that accused Rajendra @ Rajesh is his brother-in –law. He encouraged Veer Singh to get involved in drug peddling from Orrisa and Andhra Pradesh. So Veer Singh thought it an easy way to clear off his debts incurred from marriages of his two daughters. So, they started assisting each other in supplying psychotropic substances in South and Southeast Delhi to meet their requirements.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:– Accused Veer Singh s/o Dalchand R/o Bharatpur, Rajasthan age 43 yrs has pursued graduation. He used to be a daily wage earner. No previous involvement has been found against him.
Accused Rajendra @ Rajesh s/o Motilal R/o Bhim Basti, Jaunapur, Delhi age 42 yrs has studied up to 8th class. He used to run a general store. He is previously involved in 01 case of Rape.
Accused Rajkumar @ Baba s/o Charan Singh R/o Bhim Basti, Jaunapur, Delhi age 39 yrs has studied up to 3rd class. He used to run a tea stall. He is previously involved in 01 case of NDPS Act.
