CAR STEELS FROM DELHI SOLD TO CHANDIGARH, FATEHGARH SAHIB RESIDENT ARRESTED

THE NEXUS OF CAR THIEVES BUSTED WITH THE ARREST OF ONE OF THE ASSOCIATES, BY THE JOINT OPERATION OF DELHI AND PUNJAB POLICE, GPS INSTALLED IN THE STOLEN VEHICLE HELPED IN LOCATING THE VEHICLE IN PUNJAB AND PROMPT ACTION WAS INITIATED BY PUNJAB POLICE ON THE INTIMATION OF TEAM PS TIMARPUR, DELHI., STRONG ON TIME BARRICADING BY PUNJAB POLICE RESULTED IN INTERCEPTING AND CATCHING THE ACCUSED WITH STOLEN VEHICLE. THE ARRESTED ACCUSED USED TO TRANSPORT THE STOLEN VEHICLES FROM DELHI TO PUNJAB., ONE STOLEN TOYOTA FORTUNER CAR RECOVERED WITH THE ARREST OF ACCUSED FROM PUNJAB.

On 01.12.2022, a PCR Call was received at PS Timapur, Delhi, regarding theft of a Toyota Fortuner Car and immediately a case vide e-FIR No. 034899/22 u/s 379 IPC was registered on the statement of complainant R/o Sanjay Basti Timarpur, Delhi, aged-50 years, (who is driver by profession). The complainant stated that he parked his car Toyota Fortuner bearing registration No. UK08ALXXXX white colored at Main road, Sec-04, Fateh Singh Marg, Timarpur, Delhi at around 06:30 PM, but on the next morning he found his car stolen. 

Immediately a dedicated police team comprising of SI Ashok and HC Hari Narayan was constituted, under the close supervision of Inspr. Tribhuwan Singh Negi, SHO/PS Timarpur and guidance of Ms. Alka Azad, ACP/Timarpur to work on the case and nab the culprits.

During investigation, the above said team examined the complainant in details about the incident and to find out the clues about the culprits. Consequently, on 04.12.2022, the complainant shared GPS location of the stolen car and the same was found in Sirhind area of Punjab.

On this, without any delay, the SHO of PS Sirhind, Punjab was immediately contacted and the above said team of Delhi Police collaborated with the Punjab Police team to assist them with updated GPS locations of the stolen vehicle.(SUBHEAD)

Accordingly, the team of Punjab Police did strategic barricading in the area and finally the culprit was arrested with the same stolen car Toyata Fortuner, bearing registration No. UK08ALXXXX, during Picket Checking by Sirhind Police, on 10.12.2022. The culprit was identified as Malkit Singh r/o Panchpati, Gurudwara Sahib Wali Gali Humyupur, Sirhind (Fatehgarh Sahib), Punjab, age-36 years and after detailed enquiry, he was brought to Delhi on transit remand and produced before the concerned Court on 11.12.2022 and was further taken on 02 days police custody remand. After detailed interrogation, the accused is now sent in judicial custody on 13.12.2022.

INTERROGATION:  Mr. Sagar Singh Kalsi, IPS, DCP, North Distt., said, during, Interrogation, the culprit Malkit Singh, age-36 years disclosed that he used to transport the stolen vehicles from a particular place in Delhi on the directions of his associate Monu, who is a resident of Chandigarh. The accused further disclosed that he used to work on commission basis and takes certain sum of money for the delivery of each vehicle. Further, he admitted that earlier he had picked 5/6 vehicles in the same manner from Delhi to Chandigarh on the directions of Monu.

The accused Monu was in contact with one West Delhi based person who used to park the stolen vehicles at somewhere in Delhi and subsequently Monu r/o Chandigarh was intimated about the location of stolen vehicle. On the directions of Monu the accused Malkit Singh used to transport the same further on the place of delivery in Punjab.

The co-accused Monu has already been arrested by Chandigarh Police in a M.V. Theft case and is presently in judicial custody. Whereas the alleged (r/o of West Delhi) is at large and efforts are being made in order to arrest him.

DETAIL OF ACCUSED PERSON: Malkit Singh R/o Panchpati, Gurudwara Sahib Wali Gali Humyupur, Sirhind Fateh Garh, Punjab, age-36 years. (His previous antecedents are being verified).

RECOVERY:• One TOYOTA Fortuner car, stolen from the area of PS Timarpur.

The investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to nab the alleged accused r/o West Delhi and affect more recovery as well as to ascertain the role of others in this nexus.
