Delhi Police EOW reported to have arrested accused cheated several youngersters on pretext of providing jobs in Merchan navy.
In this regard, FIR No.71/21, dated 21/05/2021, u/s 409/420/468/471/120-B IPC was registered at PS EOW, New Delhi on the joint complaint of Sh. Sanjay Yadav and others. It is alleged by the victims that the alleged company M/s Ocean Galaxy Marine Private Limited through its director namely Akash Thakur @ Abhinav Verma @ Rahul @ Abhay Verma took money from the complainants on the false promise to get them a job in the Merchant Navy. 30 victims paid between 3 to 4 lacs each.
MODUS OPERANDI: Accused Akash Thakur @ Abhinav Verma @ Rahul @ AbhayVermatook money from the complainants on the false promise to provide them a job in the Merchant Navy. Some complainants alleged that the accused company/ director took the money but the job was not provided to them where as others alleged that the job provided was not as promised.
(SUBHEAD)Mr. Jitendra Kumar Meena, IPS, DCP, EOW, said, after taking money the accusedAkash Thakur @ Avadh Bihari absconded. He was declared a proclaimed person and was evading arrest. With the help of local intelligence, it came to notice that he had shifted and was running a Tour and Travels office in the name and style of ‘Dhanlaxmi’ in Vipin Garden, Delhi. On the information, he was apprehended at the given address on 14.12.2022 in the case. Further, interrogation and investigation of the case is going on.
A teams of police officers consisting of Inspector Mehrab Alam, SI Surjeet Kumar and SI Sudhir under the supervision of ACP, Shri Hari Singh and overall supervision of Shri M.I. Haider, IPS, DCP-II/EOW was constituted. The team worked diligently and traced the accused with the help of technical surveillance and local intelligence.
KNOW THE ACCUSED:- The accused Akash Thakur @ Avadh Bihari was born and brought up in Jahanabad District of Bihar. He was recruited in Merchant Navy in 2008 as Cadet. He leftMerchantNavyin 2014 as Third Officer. Thereafter, he shifted in Delhi and started the work of Tour & Travels. In 2019, he opened a consultancy company M/sCrown Marine Management Private Ltd. at Dwarka Sec-11, Delhi. He was not having the license from Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India, which is necessary to run such type of recruitment company.
Later, he purchased another company M/s Ocean Galaxy Marine PrivateLimited which has a license of DG Shipping and started to work from District Centre Janakpuri, Delhi. The alleged company M/s Ocean Galaxy Marine Private Limited through its director namely Akash Thakur @ Abhinav Verma @ Rahul @ Abhay Verma took money from the complainants on false promises to get them a job in the Merchant Navy and absconded.
