Pramukh Swami Maharaj Nagar built on a vast land of 600 acres on the Sardar Patel Ring Road in Ahmedabad was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the divine presence of Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj last night. Acharya Devvrat, Governor and Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat were present at the function.
The Prime Minister paid floral tributes to the 30-feet tall divine statue of Pramukh Swami Maharaj seated on a 15-feet high pedestal.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that Akshardham is such a tradition that it should invite universities of the world as a case study that what a wonderful combination of modern management and modern technology in the spiritual world of India! Training center for saints has been set up by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in Sarangpur.(SUBHEAD)
“From the time when I had no identity in public life, I got fatherly benefits from Pramukh Swamiji, the way someone nurtures and develops a child. Just as Pramukh Swami Maharaj proved to be a perfect guide for us as a Guru, he also proved to be a perfect disciple by fulfilling the wish of his Guru Yogiji Maharaj to build Akshardham in Delhi”.
Narendra Modi said that in 1992, I went to unfurl the tri-color at Lal Chowk in Srinagar and after completing the program, when I reached the airport, I received two telephone calls. The first call was of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and the second was of my mother.
On the arrival of the Prime Minister, Abu Dhabi Hindu Mandir Project in-charge Brahmavihari Swami escorted him. Ishwarcharan Swami, the international services director of the organization, felicitated Modi with a garland. PM Modi was present in this program for 3 hours and without any security guard, he also met the children present in large numbers. Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj presented mementos to the PM.
