A team of ARSC, Crime Branch, Delhi has arrested two accused persons namely 1) Madhur Kundra, 31 years, R/o Gali Tind Shah, Amritsar, Punjab and his associate 2) Ms. Amarjot Kaur Sandhu, 28 Years R/o Village Lohaar, Distt. Taran Taaran, Punjab and solved a daylight murder cum robbery case which occurred in the area of PS Shalimar Bagh, Delhi on 13.12.2022.
On 13.12.22, on receipt of a PCR call at PS Shalimar Bagh, local police reached at a flat in East Shalimar Bagh and found owner of the flat namely Mrs. Rajni, 56 years, lying unconscious on a bed. The lady was shifted to hospital and was declared brought dead by the doctor. Hence, a case vide FIR No. 908/22, dt. 13.12.2022, U/s 302 IPC was registered at PS Shalimar Bagh.
A team comprising of SI Rahul Garg, ASI Shashikant, HC Gaurav Tyagi, HC Bhoopendra, HC Nitin Rathi under the supervision of Insp. Arun Sindhu and Insp. K.K. Sharma, and under the overall supervision of Sh. Arvind Kumar, ACP ARSC/Crime was constituted by Sh. Rohit Meena, DCP/Crime to solve this sensational daylight murder.(SUBHEAD)
During the investigation of the case, on the basis of local enquiry and technical support by SI Rahul Garg, one of the suspects was identified and the team immediately rushed to Amritsar, Punjab. The team raided at a Hotel and apprehended the accused persons namely Madhur Kundra, 31 years, R/o Gali Tind Shah, Amritsar, Punjab and his lover Ms. Amarjot Kaur Sandhu, 28 years, R/o Village Lohaar, Distt. Taran Taaran, Punjab
INTERROGATION : Mr.Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime, said, during interrogation, the accused persons disclosed that the accused Madhur Kundra is son of sister-in-law (Nanad) of the deceased. He is married and having a 7 years old child. He is an MBA from Meerut and presently having business of medical products distributor and used to visit various hospitals for business purporses.
The co-accused namely Ms. Amarjot Kaur Sandhu, working as staff nurse in Uppal Hospital, Amritsar, Punjab, got married in January 2021. Soon after marriage, her husband left her and shifted to Dubai. During the period, she came in contact with the accused Madhur Kundra and both fell in love.
In March, 2022, husband of Ms. Amarjot Kaur Sandhu returned after a period of more than one year. There was a quarrel between Ms. Amarjot Kaur Sandhu and her husband, and her husband again went to Dubai. Thereafter, accused Ms. Amarjot Kaur Sandhu left both her matrimonial and parental homes, and shifted to a P.G. House in Amritsar, Punjab.
Both the accused Madhur Kundra and Ms. Amarjot Kaur Sandhu planned to marry each other and to shift abroad. To execute their plan, they were in need of money.
As the accused Madhur Kundra was a close relative of the deceased, so, he had good relations with Chetan (son of the deceased).
On 27th November 2022, Chetan paid a visit to Amritsar, Punjab. During the conversation, he learnt that deceased is a wealthy woman. To execute his plan, the accused Madhur Kundra had stolen keys of the deceased’s house from the bag of Chetan.
Thereafter, both the accused persons planned to rob the deceased and to execute their plan they visited the deceased’s house in the first week of December 2022, and then on 9th of December 2022, but could not execute their plan. Finally, on 13th December 2022, they reached & entered the house of the deceased having a familiar entry. They killed the lady by smothering her with a pillow and robbed jewellery and cash from the house.
RECOVERY: 56 gold bangles, 17 gold kangan, 02 bracelets, 15 gold ginni, 01 kada, 01 necklace, 04 chains with lockets, 01 gold chain, 01 mangalsutra, 12 rings, 01 nosepin, 02 gold biscuits (100 grams each), 01 diamond, 01 silver chain with locket, 05 silver rings, 350 silver coins, 5 Kg silver brick, Rs. 14,40,400 lacs cash
