The traditional Pushpadolotsav was celebrated at Sarangpur under the aegis of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, which has built 1200 temples in India and abroad including Abu Dhabi and 3 Akshardhams in Gandhinagar, Delhi and New Jersey America. The age-old tradition of applying color only to men and restricting women to playing Holi with each other was followed very well.

The festival was organised in the presence of Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj. On his way to the main function, Swamishreesprinkled saffron scented water on the idols of Bhaktji Maharaj, Shastriji Maharaj, Yogiji Maharaj and Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

Chief Editor of Swaminarayan Prakash Dr. Swami, in-charge of Akshardham Gandhinagar Anandswarup Swami and Vivek Sagar Swami explained the spiritual importance of this festival and threw light on the tradition that has been going on for two centuries since the time of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. The stage was anchored by Adarsh Jeevan Swami.(SUBHEAD)
