The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha has geared up the work of providing food items as part of the ongoing preparations for the families affected by the cyclone that hit the Kutch region of Gujarat.

The volunteers in the temples located at Bhuj, Jamnagar and Junagadh are constantly engaged in preparing packets of dry food items. Arrangements have been made to prepare at least 5000 packets in each temple for the families who have been shifted to safer areas. Mahila Mandals have made a special contribution in this work. These food packets are being delivered to the needy families through the administration.

(SUBHEAD)Many dignitaries including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi have mentioned in their addresses the steps taken by the BAPS to provide immediate relief to the families affected not only by sea storms but also by the earthquake in Kutch many years ago.

When the entire system in Bhuj was destroyed, arrangements were made to serve hot and fresh food on the same day on the instructions of the then head of the institution, Pramukh Swami ji Maharaj.

Even now, on the instructions of Mahant Swami Ji Maharaj, who is at present in Toronto, Canada, a campaign is being run to provide immediate relief to the storm victims.
