A deputation of Gurdwara Sat Kartar Sahib Chak 11 G (Harnia) village Managing Committee met Sriganganagar SSP Paris Deshmukh and demanded immediate arrest of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Gurudwara chief Sewadar Tejinderpal Singh Timma in the case registered on December 2, 2020 at Chunawadh police station regarding sacrilege.
The deputation headed by Manjit Singh Khalsa in a memorandum to the SSP said that in the said case, the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge had rejected Timma’s anticipatory bail application as he was identified in police investigation as “mastermind” of the incident. He is not only roaming freely but is making statements in this regard on social media in threatening language.
(SUBHEAD)The deputation said that Timma, on social media, was not hesitating even to threaten to teach a lesson to the police administration claiming that the issue has been taken up with Akal Takht and SGPC.
In this case the deputation also demanded the arrest of Ajit Singh Lakhian and Baljinder Singh Chahal besides Timma. It is notable that on December 2, 2020 some people had entered Gurdwara Sat Kartar with weapons in the early hours. They allegedly took away the sacred form of Shri Guru Granth Sahib after threatening the police personnel posted there and assaulting the servants of the Gurudwara.
In this regard, a case was registered against Nirmal Singh and others on the report given by Chak 11-G village resident Avtar Singh. Police have arrested more than a dozen persons in this incident.
In its investigation, the police have found Timma as the “mastermind” of the incident, he had allegedly planned the attack on the Gurdwara in Harnia village at a meeting held in Sriganganagar, cops claimed.
Fearing arrest, Timma approached the district court for anticipatory bail on July 15, which was rejected after the hearing. Timma had rebutted the findings of the investigation.
