The staff of Police Station Sector-26, Sub-Division East, arrested three individuals in case FIR No. 87 dated 30.07.2024 under Sections 61-1-14 of the Punjab Excise Act, 111(4) BNS, and 61(2) BNS. On 30.07.2024, SI Sukhdev Singh (1664/CHG) received a tip-off about a Pick-Up truck (HR69C 7260) filled
with illicit liquor near Transport Area, Sector-26, Chandigarh.
Acting on this tip, SI Sukhdev Singh and his team reached the location and intercepted the truck . The arrested individuals are Tejinder Singh, s/o Surinder Singh, R/o 177, Ward No. 22, Khanna, District Ludhiana, Punjab, Age 25; Sandeep Kumar, s/o Jagdish Kumar, R/o Ward No. 2, Morinda, District Ropar, Punjab, Age 45; and Lakhwinder Singh, s/o Dhyan Singh, R/o H. No. 4B, Bhan Colony, Nabha Road, Patiala, Punjab, Age 43.
Upon checking the truck, 40 boxes of McDowell's liquor and 109 boxes of All Seasons liquor (each box containing 12 bottles of 750 mL) were recovered and seized. Further investigation is ongoing.
