MP ARORA VISITS WESTERN COMMAND, DISCUSSES VARIOUS ISSUES WITH GOC-IN-C

In a significant visit to the Western Command Headquarters at Chandi mandir, Member of Parliament Sanjeev Arora engaged in strategic discussions with General officer Commanding in Chief Lt. Gen. Manoj Kumar Katiyar and other high-ranking officials of the Indian Army.

Addressing the pressing issue of drug abuse in area, MP Arora proposed collaborative measures involving the Indian Army to spearhead awareness and prevention initiatives. He suggested the organization of seminars and workshops in educational institutions and the promotion of sports to instill discipline and a sense of purpose among the youth.

(MOREPIC1)  (SUBHEAD)Furthermore, MP Arora recommended intensified patrolling in coordination with border forces such as BSF, ITBP, SSB, Customs and State police to curb drug trafficking. Lt General Katiyar promised to do his best to curb the Drug Menace in the area.

Lt. Gen. Katiyar also expressed the Army's procurement from industries in Punjab giving boost to Made in India initiative. MP Arora committed to facilitating connections with Ludhiana's manufacturers to ensure the supply of high-quality components for the Army's machinery and vehicles and other products as required by force.

An informal meeting was also held over lunch with Chief of Staff Lt General Mohit Wadhwa, Major General Vikramjit S. Gill, Col JS Sandhu Advisor Civil Military Affairs, Harpreet Sandhu a nature artist and other senior army and civil officials.

During his visit, MP Arora commended the Western Command's exemplary facilities, including state-of-the-art sports venues, libraries, and a golf course, and lauded its beautifully landscaped premises. He acknowledged the Command's pivotal role in defending the nation during conflicts in 1965 and 1971, 1999 Kargil war underscoring its enduring legacy in safeguarding India's sovereignty.

Arora further said that we all Indians need to be proud of our Armed Forces who safeguard us by doing their resolute and tough duties.
