Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has kindly accepted the invitation from Karan Gilhotra, President of the Shaheedon Ki Samadh Committee, to be the Chief Guest at the “Raksha Bandhan Utsav” scheduled for August 23, Sunday at the Asafwala Martyrs’ Memorial in Fazilka. During a meeting with the Governor, Gilhotra provided detailed information regarding the event’s outline, preparations, the support of various social, religious, and voluntary organizations, and public participation.

Karan Gilhotra also honored the Governor by presenting him with a beautiful painting of the Asafwala Martyrs’ Memorial.

In this poignant ceremony, mothers and sisters from Fazilka and the surrounding areas will tie Rakhis on the wrists of brave soldiers dedicated to the nation’s defense, paying tribute to their indomitable courage, sacrifice, and dedication. Children will also participate actively in the event, helping to further strengthen the spirit of patriotism and respect for the Indian Army among the younger generation.

Besides the Governor, senior Army officers, families of brave soldiers, and a large number of citizens will also be present in the Utsav. The organizing committee said that the Governor’s distinguished presence would make this patriotic event even more inspiring.

The event is being organized in honor of the brave soldiers through the collective efforts of Fazilka’s social-religious organizations, NGOs, schools, youth clubs, and civic groups.

Vivek Pratap Singh, Principal Secretary to the Governor, and Bharti Sood from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industries have also agreed to grace the occasion with their presence.
