Fine knocks by Aryan Verma ( 52) and Arun Jaglan (39) enabled Panchkula to register a 16-run victory over Kurukshetra in the Haryana State Inter District Cricket Tournament under- 19 being organised by the Haryana Cricket Association played at Mohit Cricket Ground in Ssector 27 Panchkula here today.

Winning the toss Kurukshetra choose to field first and actually proved the decision right as the Panchkula openers got out cheaply proving their decision to field under an over clouded sky. Wickets kept on crumbling on regular intervals and at one stage scoreboard read 75 for 4 in 17.4 overs.

At this stage Arun Jaglan and Pankaj played a cautious Innings building up a 70 run partnership for 5 th wicket with knock of 39 and 29 respectively. After the departure of Pankaj right handed Aryan Verma took the charge and scored valuable 52 runs in 66 balls and Sanjeev Kumar's quickfire 15 runs in 6 balls took the total to 201 for 9 in 40 overs for Panchkula. Right hand medium pacer Rahul was the wrecker -in- chief removing 2 batsmen for 40 runs. Vaibhav Yadav and Rajguru Prasad took 2 wickets each.

The visitors never looked in chase as in the first 15 overs total was 59 for 2 hovering around less than 4 runs per over. Aditya Gautam made 27. Vaibhav Yadav was the other notable performer who tried hard to achieve the target scoring a valiant folded at the score of 185 all in 39.3 overs giving hosts a consecutive third victory of the championship .
