HONEYPREET TO SURRENDER BEFORE PANCHKULA POLICE! NO RELIEF FROM DELHI HIGHCOURT

Whether Rapist selfstyled Baba's socalled adopted daughter Honeypreet Insan to surrender before Panchkula Police, after the decision of Delhi Highcourt on rejection of her bail on Tuesday. The question is raised in media and lawyers today as who will be middleman, to accompany her to Police.  Delhi high court Judge Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal, ultimately after hearing arguments from trio, Haryana Police, Honepreet’s Advocate and Delhi Police, dismissed the transit anticipatory bail plea and tells to surrender. Honepreet alias Priyanka Taneja absconding from after court verdict against Dera Sacha Sauda rapist chief on August 25.

Several teams of the Haryana Police are on the lookout for Honeypreet, who tops the list of 43 persons wanted in Haryana. She is facing charges of “provoking” violence. The police have also sounded an international alert for her arrest. Violence had broken out following Ram Rahim’s conviction on August 25 in Panchkula and Sirsa of Haryana. Meanwhile Deputy commissioner of Police (south east) Romil Baaniya said, “Raids were conducted Tuesday morning at A-9 Greater Kailash with arrest warrant against Honeypreet. Later, it was confirmed that she was not sighted here in the recent past nor she is staying here currently.”The raid was conducted as Priyanka Taneja alias Honeypreet Insan’s lawyer claimed that she had visited his office in Delhi on Monday to sign the anticipatory bail application. She has been the closest aide of Ram Rahim since 2009.

Police are on her trail for nearly a month and raids have been conducted in Nepal, Rajasthan, Bihar and Haryana. She was wanted by the Haryana Police in connection with incidents of violence following conviction of the Dera chief. Highcourt told that the easy way for her to surrender.  Justice Sangita Dhingra Sehgal, after hearing arguments on behalf of Honeypreet and the police of Delhi and Haryana, said she would pass an order on it. ."The easiest way out for you would be to surrender," the court observed.

Honeypreet has been on the run since the conviction of Ram Rahim in two rape cases. She is facing a case of sedition for allegedly inciting violence in Haryana after the Dera chief's conviction.Transit anticipatory bail plea is meant to seek protection against arrest during transit. In this case, Honeypreet is seeking bail for her transit from Delhi to Haryana to join investigation in the sedition case.

During the hearing, the Haryana Police opposed the filing of her plea in the Delhi High Court, saying it was "a ploy to do 'forum shopping'".

Delhi Police also alleged that Honeypreet should have approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court, rather moving the high court here.

The police of Delhi and Haryana opposed her plea for anticipatory bail for three weeks on the ground that the court of competent jurisdiction would be in Haryana. The lawyer for Honeypreet contended that her life was in danger in Haryana and that is why she has moved Delhi high court seeking protection from arrest till she moves a court in the neighbouring state.The lawyer said that she will join the probe if she is protected.

Priyanka Taneja alias Honeypreet, the adopted daughter of the jailed Dera chief, tops the list of 43 persons "wanted" by the Haryana Police in connection with incidents of violence that had followed Ram Rahim's conviction in the rape cases. The Panchkula police on Tuesday raided a residence in New Delhi in search for Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s “adopted daughter” Honeypreet Insan. Honeypreet, whose real name is Priyanka Taneja, has been on the run since Ram Rahim’s conviction in a rape case in August.

Armed with an arrest warrant, the police raided a property in Greater Kailash at 7.30 AM based on a tip-off, but were not able to find Honeypreet. Only the caretaker was found in the house, which is registered in the name of the Dera Sacha Sauda. Honeypreet is wanted by the Haryana Police in connection with the violence that broke out following Ram Rahim’s conviction. The police have appealed to the public for information on her whereabouts, saying any information will be rewarded.
