WESTERN COMMAND ORGANISES EX-SERVICEMEN RALLY FOR VETERANS, VEER NARIS & WIDOWS OF SOLDIERS

Western Command organised an Ex-Servicemen Rally "Sampark Se Milap at Ambala Cantonment today displaying Indian Army's commitment towards its veterans, veer naris, widows and their families. The rally covered eight districts of the state of Haryana, where more than 2400 Ex- Servicemen (ESMs), veer naris and their families participated.

The rally was attended by Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, GOC-in-C Western Command accompanied by General Officer Commanding Kharga Corps. In his address, GOC-in-C Western Command highlighted Indian Army's solidarity with its retired fraternity and assured that the Army were sensitive to their needs and would take every step to ensure that the Ex-Servicemen, veer naris and their families are looked after well. He also reiterated Army's goal of providing them quality health-care, ensuring dignity and early resolution of all their problems.

The event, characterised by military regalia lived up to its motto of "Sampark Se Milap", reaching out to maximum veterans and their families and facilitating resolution of their various issues. A number of stalls were established to cater for Ex-Servicemen and their grievances were recorded with an aim for on the spot resolution. The stalls will continue on 28 March also to enable grevience redressal.

In addition, a Medical Camp was organised, where various specialists provided treatment, advice to ESMs, veer naris and their families. During the rally, the GOC-in-C, Western Command felicitated veer naris, ESM Gallantry Awardees and provided mobility aid to ESMs.

The event was indicative of Western Command and the Kharga Corps commitment to honour its veterans, fallen heroes and their families for their unflinching loyalty and selfless service to the nation.
