THREE YEARS RI TO AN OFFICIAL OF RAILWAY PROTECTION FORCE IN A BRIBERY CASE

The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Visakhapatnam has sentenced Shri Kondaveeti Mani Prasad, then Sub-Inspector, Railway Protection Force(RPF), South Central Railway, Guntur Division to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs.20,000/- in a bribery case. 

CBI had registered a case against the accused on the allegations of bribery. It was alleged that Shri Kondaveeti Mani Prasad, Sub-Inspector of RPF, Guntur demanded an illegal gratification of Rs.One Lakh initially from the Complainant and later reduced to Rs.30,000/- for not booking any case against him.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting the said bribe. After investigation, a chargesheet was filed against the accused. 

The Trial Court found the said accused guilty and convicted him.
